A bit about the role
This is an exciting and varied opportunity for someone to help embed and enhance the controls environment within BNK. The Control Specialist will support the development of control frameworks, monitor existing controls, and drive continuous improvement through regular assessments and reviews. The Control Specialist position is an integral part of the Risk Management Team and will support the Senior Manager or Chief Risk Officer with the documentation, monitoring, and review of risk controls across BNK.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex control processes and suggest improvements.
Excellent attention to detail, with a systematic approach to documentation and control reviews.
Solid understanding of operational risk management, control frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings and collaborating with stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of control documentation and monitoring tasks.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), including advanced functions in Excel for tracking, reporting, and analysing control performance.
Previous experience working with GRC systems is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in documenting key controls, ensuring they are accurately recorded on the GRC system and aligned with the operational risk management framework.
Work with cross-functional teams to review and assess the effectiveness of existing controls and to identify improvement areas.
Support the Senior Manager or CRO in designing and implementing control processes to mitigate operational and financial risks.
Monitor the performance of controls across departments, ensuring adherence to frameworks and procedures.
Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of internal controls, reporting on their adequacy and efficiency.
Track and report control deficiencies, working with relevant departments to implement remediation action plans.
Assist in preparing risk and control reports for various committees.
Collaborate with Line 1 risk to ensure controls are aligned with BNK’s risk management framework.
Assist in the development and delivery of training and awareness sessions to improve understanding of controls and risk mitigation processes across BNK.
Support the preparation of documents for audit and reviews and facilitate control audits as required.
Assist in preparing regulatory reports related to control effectiveness and compliance.
