CCRO® Certification Requirements

To achieve CCRO® accreditation, applicants must meet several stringent requirements:

  • Written submission

    • Provide specific examples of proficiency in the key areas outlined above, demonstrating your real-world application of risk management at a senior level.

  • CPRM® certification

    • Applicants must hold the Certified Practicing Risk Manager (CPRM®) designation.

  • Experience

    • At least 10+ years of risk management experience within a business context, with 5 years in a senior risk management role. Candidates with a master’s level qualification in risk, such as a Master of Risk and Governance, must have a minimum of 5 years in a senior risk management role.

  • 360° profiling

    • Provide feedback from colleagues and other relevant individuals who are familiar with your work at a senior risk management level.

  • Panel interview

    • Participate in an interview with a panel appointed by the RMIA, where you may be asked to respond to risk-based scenarios or case studies.

  • Reference checks

    • Additional reference checks may be conducted if necessary.

Certification fees:

  • Cost of application processing, panel review and examination: $450

  • Annual renewal fee CCRO®: $500
